Gorinchem, a historic fortified city and part of the New Dutch Waterline, reached a major milestone with its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on July 26, 2021. The municipality is not only proud of its rich history but is also taking ambitious steps in the digital transformation of its services. Challenges and Collaboration

The collaboration between the Municipality of Gorinchem and SLTN began several years ago with a public tender. At that time, the municipality faced the challenge of replacing outdated hardware while also implementing future-proof solutions. SLTN was chosen for its vision and capability to meet current needs while enabling sustainable growth and innovation.

Erwin van Leeuwen, ICT Specialist at the Municipality of Gorinchem, explains: “We were looking for a partner who could grow with us and support the realization of a flexible, secure, and scalable ICT environment. SLTN has played a key role in achieving that.”

Under SLTN’s leadership, the municipality has realized a highly advanced ICT environment. This includes two fully mirrored data centers operating with a DHC function (Dynamic Hosting Cluster), making the infrastructure scalable and easily expandable when needed.

Another highlight is the integration of HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) technology and Rubrik solutions. According to Martin Bouw, Account Manager at SLTN, HPE was the perfect match for Gorinchem due to its strong integration with Rubrik and the extensive functionality it provides.

“The new system not only offers stability for the coming years but also a central portal that allows the ICT team to work more efficiently,” says Bouw.

The team often experiments with new solutions, and SLTN consistently provides the right expertise to support these projects. From enhanced cybersecurity to new features for end users, the partnership has already delivered many tangible results.
