Beekenkamp takes next step in digital growth with Lobster and SLTN

In Westland, where entrepreneurship and innovation go hand in hand, Beekenkamp is a leading grower of young plants and a producer of innovative, sustainable packaging. Innovation is deeply embedded in the family company’s DNA — not only in the greenhouse, but also in its business operations. To prepare for further growth, work in a more data-driven way, and gain control over integrations with its global network of suppliers and customers, Beekenkamp decided to part ways with its trusted ERP system.

Robert van den Berg, Business Analyst and System Developer at Beekenkamp Group:
“We implemented an entirely new ERP package, but at that stage, there were no integrations in place. Our brokers, including those in the United States, wanted to be able to place their orders directly into our system. We were looking for the right tools for that — and in our case, Lobster turned out to be the best system.”

Choosing Lobster through SLTN

Bas van den Hooff, Solution Lead within SLTN Professional Services, oversees projects involving business software, application development, and data and application integration:

“At Beekenkamp, Lobster was chosen from the broader SLTN portfolio because we had a clear picture of the system requirements early on. It was important for them to remain in control of their own data on SLTN infrastructure, to have fixed monthly fees, and to have the capabilities to efficiently connect with their chain partners. In addition, the system had to be able to handle large datasets effortlessly — and that’s where Lobster truly excels.”

A decisive factor was the ability to act quickly.
Robert van den Berg: “We specifically chose SLTN because of our existing relationship and because they were able to deliver on short notice. Other providers couldn’t do that.”

Tailored from day one

SLTN set itself apart by working directly with Beekenkamp-specific data.
Bas van den Hooff: “We ask clients at an early stage to provide datasets from their actual systems. As far as I know, we were the only party that, within the first few weeks, had already developed an integration based on their own data, systems, and processes. Their feedback showed that this was a decisive factor in choosing to work with Lobster and SLTN.”

Working together for efficient information exchange

While some projects focus on developing business software with user interfaces and workflows, at Beekenkamp the emphasis was on information exchange between internal and external systems.
Bas: “At SLTN, we work with about five graphical development platforms. At first glance, they may seem similar, but over time you realize that each platform has its own unique strengths and characteristics. In this project, Lobster was the best match for Beekenkamp’s needs.”

With the implementation of Lobster through SLTN, Beekenkamp has established a solid digital foundation for the future — ready to collaborate more efficiently, quickly, and intelligently on a global scale.

Robert van den Berg: “For us, Lobster is the best fit. My experience with SLTN is that it’s a company with highly skilled professionals who are also very flexible and easy to work with. Even small changes were picked up and implemented immediately.”
